Korean Aptech graduates receive degrees
By Our Staff Reporter
BANGALORE, JULY 27. At a special graduation ceremony today, 18
Korean students who completed their studies at Aptech here,
received their degrees from Mr. Vivek Kulkarni, State Secretary
for Information Technology.
This is the second batch to complete the course, and a part of
the ongoing partnership between Aptech Ltd., and Sungkonghoe
University in Korea, to impart IT training for students in India.
The three-year course is conducted for two years in Korea, and
the students study in India in the final year.
Mr. V.Balasubramanian, Senior Vice-President, Aptech ltd., and
Head, International Division, said the students had worked on
live projects in Bangalore, in companies such as limitless,
dotcom Software, Medisoft 3DNetworks and so on.
"India has finally arrived as a hub of IT, and today our software
and IT knowledge are being accepted in more than 43 countries,"
he said adding that students from several countries were now
looking at IT education in India as a possibility. IT education
was likely to emerge as a major export from India soon, he said.
The students graduating today were trained in subjects such as
multi media, software development, and E-commerce. This batch
also completed the British Council BEC level 1 for which they
will receive certificates from Cambridge University.
Mr. Kulkarni, who commended the students on their achievement,
said the fourth IT.com Conference, scheduled from November 1 to
5, would be an opportunity for Korean hardware to meet Indian
software. A new addition to the conference this time would be the
Official Software engineering process group (SEPG) theme, which
would be "enriching" to students and entrepreneurs alike.
