HYDERABAD, JULY 27. The Chief Minister, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, has instructed officials not to put people to inconvenience even while protecting the beauty of Charminar.

Mr. Naidu, who held a review meeting on road-widening works near the monument on Friday, said a department-wise review would be taken up every week for monitoring progress of the work. Providing parking facilities, construction of toilets and supply of drinking water near Moti Galli, black-topping of the widened portions of road and removal of bottlenecks on Darulshifa-Miralam Mandi road, besides removal of overhead lines of electricity on the Pathergatti-Charminar-Lad Bazar sector were discussed at the meeting, according to a press release from the Chief Minister's Office.

The Ministers -- Messrs. N. Md. Farooq, E. Peddi Reddy and K. Subbarayudu -- the Chairman and Managing Director, A.P. Transco, Mr. P. Ramakanth Reddy, the Managing Director, HMWSSB, Mr. M.G. Gopal, the Commissioner, MCH, Dr. P.K. Mohanty, the Hyderabad Collector, Mr. Rajeshwar Tiwari, and senior officials attended.

Meanwhile, the indefinite hunger

strike undertaken by Mr. G. Niranjan, president, Akkanna-Madanna Mahankali temple committee, against demolition of the prayer hall of the temple entered third day today.

Leaders warned that any moves by the MCH to disturb the prayer hall as a part of road-widening would hurt the sentiments of people.
