Inflation rate falls

NEW DELHI, JULY 29. The annual inflation rate fell by 0.7 percentage points to 5.10 per cent for the week ended on July 14, mainly on account of a near one per cent fall in the price of primary items.

The point-to-point inflation rate based on wholesale price index (WPI) for all commodities fell from 5.17 per cent a week ago even as manufactured items became costlier. The index was 6.47 per cent in the previous year.
