India-China boundary talks begin
BEIJING, JULY 31. India and China today began the 13th round of
the Joint Working Group (JWG) aimed at resolving the boundary
issue between the two countries.
The Indian side is led by the Foreign Secretary, Ms. Chokila
Iyer, while the Vice-Foreign Minister of China, Mr. Wang Yi, is
leading the Chinese side for the one-day talks.
At the JWG, both sides would review the progress made during the
eighth and ninth meetings of the Indo-Chinese expert group of
diplomatic and military officials on clarification and
confirmation of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and consider
further course of action, an official source said.
``Both sides will have an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral
relations as well as international and regional issues of common
interest,'' he said.
