Raghavendra Swamy Aradhana celebrations from August 2

BANGALORE, JULY 31. The

Raghavendra Swamy Math will celebrate the 330th Aradhana Mahotsava of Sri Raghavendra Swamy at Mantralayam for a week from August 2.

The celebrations, which will be inaugurated by Sri Sushameendra Swamy, will be graced by Sri Raghubhushana Tirtha Swamy of Balaguru Math and Sri Raghumanya Tirtha Swamy of Bheemanakatte Math, the spokesman of the math, Dr. Aralumallige Parthasarathy, said here on Tuesday.

Addressing presspersons, he said a special publication of Raghavendra Swamy Math titled ``Raghavendra Sathsampradaaya Janapriya Bhajana Samputa'' will be released on the occasion. The 1000-page book will be released by the Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, Mr. Ananth Kumar, on August 5.

Music programmes, Harikatha and dance drama by artistes such as Mr. K.J. Jesudas, Sri Vidyabhushana, Mr. Puttur Narasimha Naik, Mr. R.K. Suryanarayana, Mr. Sheshagiri Das, Mr. Bellary Ramachandra, Mr. Bhadragiri Achuthadas, and Prabhath Kalavidaru had been arranged, he said.

As part of the special programmes of the math, two lodgings, ``Vijayendra Vasathi Gruha'' and ``Brindavan Gardens,'' built at a cost of Rs. 2 crores and Rs. 60 lakhs respectively would be inaugurated. A museum depicting the tradition of Mantralaya Raghavendra Swamy Math and a full-fledged library hall would also be opened for the public, Dr. Parthasarathy said.

Besides, the Raghavendra Swamy Kalyana Mantap at Tungabhadra built at a cost of Rs. 30 lakhs would be declared open, he said.

As part of the celebrations, the math would take up the cleaning of the river at Mantralayam, start construction of a mega dining hall and an educational complex, renovate the Mukhadwaram and start a scheme to provide clean drinking water to the residents.

This year, the math will honour Vidwan Guru Venkatachar of Poornaprajna Vidyapeetha, Bangalore, by presenting him the ``Raghavendra Anugraha Prashasthi,'' he added.
