By Our Corporate Reporter
CHENNAI, JULY 31. HMA STARware Limited (HMAS), a leader in the
domestic financial software solutions and middleware segment, has
announced the implementation of IST /SWITCH from the Canada based
Oasis Technology at IDBI Bank for its ATM services.
Addressing presspersons here today, Mr. Harish K. Murthi,
chairman and managing director, HMA STARware, said the IST switch
from Oasis Technology was fast emerging as the preferred choice
across the world for innovative, tech savvy banks such as IDBI
Bank because of its open architecture and cost effectiveness.
He said the company had also provided IDBI Bank with a state-of-
the-art, proactive ATM monitoring system `Concenter' from
Datawest Solutions inc. Canada, which was successfully
implemented along with the new switch.
Explaining the advantages of the open systems Mr. Murthi said the
proprietary solutions based on closed systems were hardware
dependent, whereas Oasis's open systems solutions were flexible
and hardware independent and could run on IBM, HP or Sun
machines.
Mr. Shameek Bhargava, head of ATMs and Card Products, IDBI Bank,
said IDBI bank was planning to introduce an array of new,
innovative produces and services through its ATM channel taking
advantage of the new, flexible technology platform. The aim was
to continue to grow the ATM network and the bank had already
