IAF Vice-Chief

NEW DELHI, AUG. 1. In a major reshuffle in the Indian Air Force, Air Marshal S. Krishnaswamy today took over as Vice-Chief of the Air Staff.

Air Marshal Krishnaswamy, who is likely to take over as Chief of the Air Staff in December, succeeds Air Marshal Vinod Patney, who retired today after 40 years of service.

In other appointments, Air Marshal V.K. Bhatia replaced Air Marshal Krishnaswamy as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Air Command, a Defence Ministry release said here. Air Marshal Mcmahon has been appointed Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, South-Western Command, in place of Air Marshal Bhatia.
