This is not religion

Sir, - The demolition of a 16th century mosque near Asind town in Bhilwara district of Rajasthan and the installation of an idol in the same place caused pain and anguish. If the destruction of religious places and killing of people are a part of religion, then it is better we give up the concept.

Religion is not a sentimental journey; it is a way of life. It means a system of discipline, belief, faith and worship. Lord Krishna taught wisdom, duty and discipline to mankind through the Gita. Jesus said, ``I am the way, the truth and life; no man can enter the father's kingdom but by me!'' Prophet Mohammed's teachings are derived from the root word ``peace''. No religion speaks of violence and demolition and destruction of others' religious places. Paths are many but God is one. Let us discard violence and practice love.
