Badal meets Vajpayee

NEW DELHI AUG. 2.The Punjab Chief Minister, Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, today met the Prime Minister, Mr. A. B. Vajpayee, here and reposed full faith of the Akali Dal in his leadership.

``Mr. Badal in his meeting with the Prime Miniser appreciated him for withdrawing his offer to resign in the interest of the people of the country who have been immensely benefitted from his seasoned, matured and principled leadership'', an official statement qouted Mr. Badal as saying.

Lauding the leadership qualities of Mr. Vajpayee, the Akali Dal president said ``his party extends whole hearted support on behalf of the people of Punjab'' to the Prime Minister in carrying the country forward on the road of development and prosperity.

``Punjabis would ever be indebted to Mr.Vajpayee for showing magnanimity for his concerted efforts to boost the economy of the State,'' the Chief Minister said.
