Forex reserves up $78m
MUMBAI, AUG. 4. Foreign currency reserves have further swelled by
$78 million to $43.68 billion for the week ended July 27. Foreign
currency assets have increased by $73 million to $40.88 billion
in the reporting week, according to Reserve Bank of India's
weekly statistical supplement here.
Special drawing rights rose by $5 million to $9 million while
gold reserves remained static at $2.80 billion.
The foreign currency assets expressed in U. S. dollar terms
include the effect of appreciation/depreciation of non-U. S.
currencies such as Euro, sterling and yen.
