SOME wear gems according to their date of birth as per the Gregorian calendar with Sun Signs determining the choice. Experts believe that weak planets in one's horoscope can be compensated for by wearing gems considered propitious to them.

Planets with short Maha Dasa durations will have frequent Bhukthi changes, and one cannot be making rapid alterations on their account.

Carrying a gem in one's purse for some time to make sure it is suitable is good, before wearing it set in a ring. Open setting is good for all gems, except diamonds. Gold rings are more effective than silver.
