FIIs net buyers in equities in July
MUMBAI, AUG. 5. Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) and mutual
funds operated in contrast to each other for investments in
equities for the month of July with the former being net buyers
at Rs. 722.4 crores ($ 153.7 million) and the mutual funds
remaining net sellers at Rs. 444.86 crores.
The same trend continued even in debt with FIIs and mutual funds
remaining net sellers at Rs. 244.8 crores ($ 52.1 million) and
net buyers at Rs. 1,077.28 crores respectively, according to the
data available with the Securities and Exchange Board of India
here.
Foreign funds were net buyers on 16 and 10 trading days in
equities and debt respectively, SEBI said.
On July 18, FIIs bought equities worth Rs. 326.1 crores and
offloaded to the extent of Rs. 122.8 crores, thus netting
purchases of Rs. 203.3 crores ($ 43.3 million), the highest for
the month. This was followed by net sales of Rs. 195 crores ($
41.5 million) on July 13.
