2 killed in Bihar firing
By K. Balchand
PATNA, AUG. 6. Two persons were killed and three others injured
when police opened fire at flood victims who turned violent in
Muzaffarpur district today.
Police resorted to firing at Aurai when the flood victims went on
the rampage at a relief centre and later gheraoed the Aurai
police station, which they sought to burn down, besides
brickbatting the policemen. Police claimed they had to open fire
in self-defence. Unofficial sources, however, put the toll at
six.
