Indya.com launches new business

NEW DELHI, AUG. 8. Indya.com today announced the launch of its new business foray - Indya Tickets. This follows the creation of Bigtree Interactive Ticketing Private Ltd. by the acquisition of two leading players, the Mumbai based Bigtree Entertainment and the Delhi-based Interactive Television's on line ticketing business.

Indya.com now has majority shareholding with the four founders owning the rest. Mr. Alok Sethi who is the chief financial officer of Indya.com portal private limited will now also be the chief executive officer of Bigtree Interactive.

Indya.com's chief executive officer, Mr. Sunil Lulla, said the launch of Indya Tickets was in line with the company's business strategy of establishing a leadership position in select transaction-oriented domains.

The Indya Tickets services cover movie, theatre and drama tickets, sporting events, music and entertainment shows and specialised events. The services will be available in five cities via multi-access points - the telephone, the Internet and special kiosks located at strategic locations such as petrol pumps and other venues.
