Jayachandra Reddy appointed PCI chief

NEW DELHI, AUG. 9. Mr. Justice K. Jayachandra Reddy, retired judge of the Supreme Court, has been appointed chairman of the Press Council of India (PCI). A notification to this effect was issued by the Government on Wednesday, the day Mr. Justice P.B. Sawant's term as PCI chairman ended.

Mr. Justice Reddy's nomination was cleared last Friday by a three-member Statutory Selection Committee.
