Tirkey to lead Indian junior team

NEW DELHI, AUG. 9. Prabodh Tirkey will lead the Indian team in the Junior Challenge Open international hockey tournament to be held in Poznan, Poland, from August 13 to 19. Malaysia, England, Germany and Russia, apart from host Poland, will be the other teams in the competition.

The team:Suraj Kanta, Shanmuga Sundaram, K.P. Roy, Bikramjit Singh, Kanwalpreet Singh, Vikram Pillay, Viren Rasquinha, Sandeep Kumar, Mandeep Singh, Rajnikant, Prabhodh Tirkey (captain), Rajpal Singh, Raju, Tushar Khandekar, Sandeep Michael, Ajitpal Singh, Inderjeet Singh and Amarjeet Pratap. Chief coach: Rajinder Singh; Coach: N.S. Sodhi; Physical trainer: Sampath Kumar; Manager: Col. A.D. Sharma; Umpire: V.B. Singh.
