Bajaj launches Eliminator in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD, AUG. 10. Bajaj Auto, which launched four motorcycle
models in the past few months, has targeted a 25 per cent market
share of the motorcycle segment for the year 2002, which
translates into six lakh bikes, according to Mr. R. L.
Ravichandran, Vice-President, Business Development and
Marketing.Addressing a press conference here on Friday to
announce the launch of its latest offering - Eliminator, in
Andhra Pradesh, he said last year its market share was 21 per
cent. Other models it launched recently were Boxer CT, Aspire and
Croma.
Eliminator, he said, was launched so far in Pune, Mumbai,
Bangalore and Delhi, and the sales target was 15,000 this year.
Positioned as a premium bike, the Kawasaki Bajaj Eliminator was
95 indigenised, and was the first `cruiser bike' in India. It has
a `long and low design', adjustable shocks, catalytic converter,
disc brake, widest tyres and longest wheelbase on a bike in
India, he said.
