'No link with ex-UTI chief'
By Our Special Correspondent
CHENNAI, AUG. 11. The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Ms.
Jayalalithaa, has denied any connection with the UTI scam and
said there was no nexus between her and the former UTI chief, Mr.
P.S. Subramanyam.
In a statement, Ms. Jayalalithaa said, ``I categorically state
that I do not have any connection whatsoever with this issue at
all''. Any news which ``seeks to link my name to the UTI scam not
only consists of fabricated lies but also is mischievous in
nature besides being untrue in content. It is blatantly motivated
and published with the sole motive of bringing disrepute to my
name. I wish to state that there is no question of any nexus
between me and the former UTI chief, as I do not know the
individual''.
