Ashok Leyland July sales down
NEW DELHI, AUG. 11. Ashok Leyland has reported a 7.6 per cent
drop in July sales at 2,056 vehicles over 2,217 vehicles sold in
the same month last year.
The July sales included exports of 155 vehicles, a company
statement said here.
Sales during July were down by 16.6 per cent compared to 2,466
units sold in the previous month.
Cumulative sales (April-July) stood at 8,502 vehicles, a drop of
1.8 per cent over 8,658 units sold in the year-ago period.
The Hinduja group flagship sold 2,039 medium and heavy vehicles
in July, a dip of 6.7 per cent against 2,186 units sold in the
year-ago month.
Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) sales also slumped by 45.1 per
cent to 17 units from 31 units.
Cumulative medium and heavy vehicles sales fell by one per cent
year-on-year at 8,442 units against 8,527 units while LCV sales
slipped 54.1 per cent at 60 units against 131 units sold in
April-July last fiscal.
