Show stoppers for toppers
NOTHING LIKE some eye-catching gifts to make someone's day. A
walkman, gift hampers, stainless steel dinner sets, branded sun
glasses - not just for TV shows. Such as a student who has done
well in his examinations. It will be `Raj TV Kishkinta Mudhalvan
Virudhu' for school toppers in X and XII standards, to be given
away at a three-day, entertainment filled programme beginning on
August 14.
A pilot team will visit Kanyakumari and Coimbatore and the
students from all the districts will be brought to the city in
special trains, says Mr. M. Raajhendhran, Managing Director of
Raj TV.
The first day programme begins with paying floral tributes to the
martyrs at the `War Memorial' followed by a cruise on a Coast
Guard vessel. There will be a visit to the TIDEL Park in
Taramani, where the toppers will have their lunch.
A talent show by the toppers is also on the cards. Last year, a
music programme was organised as part of the entertainment
programme, but this year, the organisers decided on a talent show
for the toppers, says Mr. Appachan, Chairman, Kishkinta.
The second day, I-day, begins with a victory lap visit of various
parts of the city by car and awards to be presented by Dr. M.S.
Swaminathan at Kishkinta. Finally, the toppers will be taken to
the Ford India plant at Maraimalai Nagar and they will have the
privilege of interacting with Mr. Phil Spender, Managing Director
of Ford India on Aug 16.
Apart from the students, the school will also get an award from
`Raj TV and Kishkinta Mudhalvan Virudhu'.
