1 dies of food poisoning

GUWAHATI, AUG. 12. A 13-year-old girl died and more than 1,000 persons, mostly children, were taken ill after allegedly consuming a poisonous gram in Assam's Barpeta district, official sources said here.

The girl died in a make-shift medical camp at Keotkuchi last night while more than 200 panic-stricken people with affected kins had come to the Guwahati Medical College Hospital here for treatment, the sources said.
