Youth dies after consuming bottled drink
By Our Staff Reporter
CHENNAI, AUG. 15. An 18-year-old youth died and another boy was
admitted to the hospital after they consumed a bottled drink in a
theatre on Sunday evening.
The police said Ilayaraja of Vyasarpadi went to a theatre at
Kolathur along with his friend, Meenakshi Sundaram. Both were
offered a bottle drink by some strangers.
After consuming it, Ilayaraja vomitted outside the theatre and
died on way to hospital, while Meenakshi Sundaram fell
unconscious.
The strangers removed three sovereigns of jewellery from
Meenakshi Sundaram and escaped. He was admitted to the Kilpauk
Medical College hospital.
The Kolathur police have registered a case and are investigating.
