Chandrachud, Srilakshmi triumph

VIJAYAWADA, AUG. 16. V. Chandrachud and P. Srilakshmi claimed the men's and women's singles titles respectively in the DXN- sponsored Satyam memorial State-ranking table tennis tournament, which concluded at the Vijayawada Club here on Thursday.

Chandrachud of Rajahmundry, making a comeback after a two-and-a- half year hiatus, overcame Deepesh Singh of the Postal Department with a forceful forehand loop drive dominated game 11- 7, 12-14, 12-10, 11-4, 11-7.

A first year B.Sc student of Almeer College, Rajahmundry, Chandrachud is a product of the Petroleum Sports Control Board Academy at Ajmer and represented the country in the Asian junior championships in Goa, 1997.

Sudeep Lakhtakia, Additional Director, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Government of Andhra Pradesh, who was the chief guest, gave away the prizes.
