Rewind and dance
LETTING THEIR hair down is what some do, to get over the tensions
of the big city. So how about an event that does some musical
rewind? It will be a theme musical night at Taj Connemara Hotel
on August 18.
Christened `Retroactive' the 80s Night at Connemara begins at 10-
30 p.m. with EC-41 discotheque fame, DY Wayne playing the best of
the 80s and high voltage commercial music. The event which is to
take place at one of the biggest banquet halls will have a cover
charge of Rs. 400 for couples only. The Taj Connemara Hotel began
their theme night last week with the MTV and Citibank card event.
Weekends are never boring for well-heeled Chennaiites. Take in
the action that is on the cards.
All eyes are on HFO, whose reopening date is keenly awaited by
disco-hoppers. EC 41, the dance floor by the sea, is wooing the
crowd with an invitation to DJs from other States, like Mumbai
and Bangalore. Gatsby 2000, high up there in the rankings, is of
course keeping its doors open to the stream of dancers who flock
during the weekend. If political fever sweeps the city through
the week, during the weekend, it is plain and simple disco fever.
