The week ahead

THE Sun enters Virgo on Wednesday, August 23 at 01:28 GMT. Mercury in Virgo and Saturn in Gemini will highlight intellectual, administrative and communications tasks this week. Mercury, the planet of communications, governs Gemini and Virgo. The concentration of mercurial energy in the celestial spheres will inspire you to take another look at documents, organise files, attend to business matters and arrange your desk. By clearing paper and clutter from your space, you are also clearing fresh space in your mind.

Queries answered

A young man has Jupiter and Saturn in Lagna which is Simha. The other planets are placed thus: Mars in Kanya, Kethu in Makara, Moon in Rishabha, Venus in Mithuna, and Rahu, Sun, and Mercury in Kataka. Is it correct to say that Dosha by Mars in the 2nd will not affect, since the Lagna is Simha?

M. Pranappan, Thanjavur-7.

MARS, taken to be a Yoga Karaka for Kataka and Simha Lagnas, may not cause Angaraka Dosha, though he is posited in 2, 4, 7, 8 or 12 for Lagna. The birth-star should have been mentioned. Moon in Rishabha means he was born in Kritthika, Rohini, or Mrigasira. However that be, if the birth took place between August 4 and August 6 1980, the native should have gone past his Mars Maha Dasa.
