36 killed in Ukraine blast

KIEV, AUG. 19. At least 36 miners were killed and 44 injured today in an underground methane and coal-dust explosion in eastern Ukraine, and at least 14 others were missing, officials said.

The blast at the Zasiadko mine in the Donetsk region was the most serious accident this year in Ukraine's Co L mines, which are considered among the world's most unsafe.
