Umed Singh to go on fast

NEW DELHI, AUG. 19. Mr. Umed Singh, the husband of slain Samajwadi Party, MP, Phoolan Devi, today said he would begin an indefinite fast at Rajghat from tomorrow to demand a CBI probe into the ``deep conspiracy'' behind his wife's murder.

Mr. Singh said he was convinced that the arrest of a key suspect in the murder case, Sher Singh Rana, was just the ``tip of an iceberg'' and that there was a conspiracy behind the killing of his wife as the real culprits were ``still at large''.
