Star Disc
IN A land where film watching and `star' gazing is a way of life,
what would be prized possessions? Pictures of stars, perhaps.
Everyone wants star pictures, and with the advent of digital
technology, it is possible to get them at the click of the mouse.
But where does one go for pictures of say Simran, Jyothika or
even MGR and Sivaji Ganesan? Enter a new CD-Rom.
`Cini photo gallery' comes from Softview Computers of Chennai.
The Disc contains photographs of film stars of several
generations starting from MGR to Kamalhasan and Rajnikant down to
the latest heart-throb, Laila.
The disc (Rs. 200, available in all branches of Dove Multimedia
and Higginbothams) has 348 photographs created in 300 dpi
resolution, says Mr. Anto Peter of Softview.
These pictures can be used for graphics, for video applications,
DTP, Web applications and printing, especially pamphlets and
invitations.
It is not of course intended for newspaper and magazine
publication, which require high resolution scanning and better
image quality.
