By Our Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI, AUG. 20. Members of an official team, set up to book
medical clinics engaged in female foeticide in Faridabad, near
here, were reportedly roughed up when they tried to investigate a
complaint against one such clinic.
The team set up under the Prevention of Pre-Natal Diagnostics Act
were jostled and pushed around by the clinic staff, as also some
doctors from the neighbourhood. However a police party arrived
and rescued the team.
The Union Family Welfare Secretary, Mr. A.R. Nanda, confirmed the
incident and said the matter has been taken up with the district
authorities as also the Indian Medical Association (IMA).
