Three Acts repealed

NEW DELHI, AUG. 20. Parliament today repealed three Acts - two relating to railways and one concerning sugarcane cess with the Lok Sabha adopting three Bills seeking their repeal as they had become redundant.

While the Indian Railway Companies (Repeal) Bill and the Railway Companies (substitution of parties in civil proceedings) Repeal Bill were moved by the Minister of State for Railways, Mr. O. Rajagopal, the Sugarcane Cess (validation) Repeal Bill was piloted by the Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Mr. Shanta Kumar. The three Bills have already been approved by the Rajya Sabha.
