New organisation formed for cause of Babri Masjid

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, AUG. 20. A new organisation, Tahreek-e-Tahaffuz Shaer- e-Islam, has been formed to champion the cause of reconstruction of the Babri Masjid at its original place. The Tahreek aims at activising the Muslims to bring pressure on the Government for reconstruction of the mosque.

Tahreek chief organiser, Moulana Ataur Rahman Wajadi, told presspersons here on Monday that the organisation was formed after a meeting held at Delhi with representatives drawn from different parts of the country. The meeting felt Babri Masjid was not a political but religious issue. It was a question of Islamic faith. And therefore it was the responsibility of every member of the community to work for protection of Islamic culture and to strive for rebuilding of the mosque, Moulana Wajadi said.

He condemned attempts to equate the Students Islamic Movement of India with ISI and said this was intended to demoralise the minorities.
