Balance lacking
Sir, - As an apolitical reader, I entirely agree with the views
expressed by the Chief Minister. To collect news in a `war like
situation' a reporter is expected to take `risks' and `physical
torture'. To what degree he undertakes this risk is entirely left
to him and as editor you cannot hold a brief for such
adventurism, which in your opinion borders on `unwarranted'
risks.
I can only join other readers to say that The Hindu is not
adopting the `balanced approach' in the news coverage of Ms.
Jayalalithaa's governance. It is a pity that the media should
seek to destroy what three crore population decided in the
recently concluded election.
S. Seetharaman,
Chennai
Sir, - It has become a habit with the Chief Minister to write to
the media after setting up an inquiry commission. Both Ms.
Jayalalithaa and the former Chief Minister are concerned only
with themselves and show the least respect to the people. Enough
of this vendetta game. We have faith only in the media and the
judiciary of this country. Please continue to express your
balanced views and allow Tamil Nadu to have minimum peace.
Padma Srinivasan,
Madurai
