Lok Jan Shakti leader demands Tejpal's arrest

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI, AUG. 23. The national general secretary of the Lok Jan Shakti, Mr. A.K. Bajpayee, has demanded the immediate arrest of Mr. Tarun Tejpal, Chief Executive Officer of tehelka.com, for reportedly admitting before the media that sex workers were used to lure three Army officials in the Tehelka expose.

In a statement here, Mr. Bajpayee, a practising High Court lawyer, said that Mr. Tejpal should be arrested under Section 5 of the Suppression of Immoral Trafficking Act (SITA). He further said that there was no need to lodge a complaint with the police in the matter as it was a cognisable offence.
