AI plane makes unscheduled landing
KOLKATA, AUG. 23. Passengers of an Airbus 310 of Air India,
flying from Hong Kong to New Delhi, had a narrow escape when the
aircraft developed engine trouble and made an unscheduled landing
at the N.S.C. Bose International Airport here last night with one
engine working.
The pilot detected problems in the oil supply system of the
engines while flying over Bangladesh and decided to make an
unscheduled landing here, the Eastern Regional Chief of Air
Safety, Civil Aviation, Mr. Ram Nath, said today. The aircraft
was later grounded as its engines needed replacement, Mr. Nath
said.
