SSLC examinations from March 6

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, AUG. 23. The SSLC examinations for the
academic year 2001-2002 will commence on March 6, 2002, and
conclude on March 22, a press note issued here today said.
Candidates who figure in the rolls of the X std. on July 15,
2001 can appear for these examinations. Private candidates who
complete 17 years of age on March 1, 2002 can also apply for the
examinations. Candidates who have failed to pass the SSLC
examinations too can apply.
The full course fee for the examination is Rs. 25, while that
for the first language is Rs. 10, for Hindi, Rs. 5 and for group
A/group B, Rs. 20. The fine is Re. 1. The fee can be submitted
only through the headmaster of the selected examination centre.
Fee will be accepted at the exam centre without fine from
September 4 to 11 and with fine from September 12 to 15. The
examination will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
The timetable for the examination is as follows: March 6: First
language paper 1.
Malayalam/Tamil/Kannada/Sanskrit/Arabic/Gujarati/Urdu/Additional
English/Additional Hindi/Sanskrit first paper (for Sanskrit
schools) and Arabic first paper (for Arabic schools); March 7:
first language, second paper. Malayalam/Tamil/Kannada/special
English/(for English medium students), Arabic paper 2 (for Arabic
schools), Fishery Science (for Fishery Technical schools),
Sanskrit paper 2 (for Sanskrit schools); March 8: English first
paper; March 11: English second paper; March 13: Hindi/general
knowledge (in English); March 14: Mathematics paper 1; March 15:
Mathematics paper 2; March 18: Social Science paper 1 (History
and Civics); March 19: Social Sciences paper 2 (Geography and
Economics); March 20: Physics; March 21: Chemistry; March 22:
Biology and Health Science.
The notification of the SSLC examination, the candidate list and
other forms will be available at all District Education Offices
(except that of Thiruvananthapuram district) from August 27
onwards. The notification and other forms for Thiruvananthapuram
district can be had from August 23 onwards at the Pariksha
Bhavan.
The LSS/USS examinations will commence on March 19.
On March 19, the first language examinations will be held
(Malayalam/Tamil/Kannada/Arabic/Additional
English/Sanskrit/Urdu). The English examination will be held on
March 20 while the Mathematics and General Knowledge examinations
will be held on March 21 and 22 respectively. These examinations
will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, the release added.
