Boswell stuns Evans

By Raju Chainani

HONG KONG, AUG. 23. The eclipse of the seeds continued in the US$ 100,000 Cathay Pacific squash Open as fourth-seeded David Evans (Wales) was comprehensively beaten by Australia's Stewart Boswell. The 22-year-old from Canberra won 15-6, 15-6, 15-4 in 41 minutes during which he never allowed last year's British Open champion to settle into any sort of rhythm.

Boswell plays ninth-seeded Martin Heath (Scotland) tomorrow. Heath was too good for the world junior champion Kareem Darwish as he posted a 33-minute 17-14, 15-4, 15-4 win. England's Paul Johnson, the number 10 seed, had reached the last eight here for the last three years. Tonight, the Londoner found an able opponent in Olli Tuominen (Finland), who had eliminated sixth- seeded John White (Scotland) in the first round.
