Setback to Moopanar's health
By Our Special Correspondent
CHENNAI, AUG. 27. The condition of the Tamil Maanila Congress
president, Mr. G.K. Moopanar, who has been on ventilator for a
fortnight now, has suffered a setback, according to the Sri
Ramachandra Medical College hospital here where he is under
treatment.
The hospital dean, Dr. S. Thanikachalam, in a press release said
there has been a setback in the health status of Mr. Moopanar
since 36 hours.
His lung condition inspite of ventilatory support, with multiple
antibiotic coverage, exhibited further advancement of the
disease. This had resulted in critical gas exchange condition and
subsequent chain reaction.
The consultants were meeting periodically to discuss the
appropriate treatment, to meet his vital parameters, nursing care
and nutritional status, the press release added. Late in the
evening, party sources said his condition was improving.
Mr. Moopanar was admitted to the hospital on July 30.
