CM asks officials to step up probe into Krushi Bank issue

HYDERABAD, AUG. 27. The Chief Minister, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu,
on Monday asked officials investigating the Krushi Bank issue to
step up the probe and book the culprits without delay.
At a review meeting with Ministers and officials, he asked the
latter to seize the assets of the chairman and the other
directors of the bank. He asked officials to take the depositors
into confidence about the investigation's progress and arrest
those responsible for the scam.
Among those present at the review were Home Minister, Mr. T.
Devender Goud, and the Minister for Cooperation, Mr. C.
Ramachandra Rao, and senior officials.
In another press release, the police said special parties had
intensified efforts to arrest the chairman of the bank and its
directors. About 25 places in the twin cities and other parts of
the State had been raided in this connection.
The release said there were about 8,000 customers who had
deposited upto about Rs. 1 lakh each. About 30 depositors met the
Deputy Superintendent (Criminal Investigation Department) and
recorded their statements regarding the case.
