43 Christian tombs ravaged in A.P.
VISAKHAPATNAM, AUG. 28. Tension gripped Anakapalli town in Andhra
Pradesh today following destruction of 43 tombs built by the
Christian community in a common burial ground, midnight on
Monday.
Three persons including the president of the Hindu Samshana
Vaatika Samrakshana Samithi, Mr. S.S.N. Raju, were arrested
following a complaint from the United Pastors Fellowship
president, Mr. Francis K. Sudhakar, and three others.
The town, 50 km from here, had a common burial ground on the
banks of River Sarada, which fell into dispute with Hindus
objecting to Christians building permanent cement structures
shrinking the space.
