Hurriyat leaders' visit cannot be stopped: Antony
By Our Special Correspondent
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, AUG. 29. The Chief Minister, Mr. A. K.
Antony, said here on Wednesday that the Government could not stop
the visit of leaders of the All Party Hurriyat Conference (APHC)
of Kashmir to Kerala early next month as the Hurriyat was not a
banned organisation.
``We will not allow them to visit Kerala if the Central
Government bans the organisation. As of now, there is no ban on
the activities of the Hurriyat Conference anywhere in the
country,'' the Chief Minister said in reference to the BJP demand
that the Hurriyat leaders should be prevented from visiting
Kerala.
Mr. Antony told presspersons that it would not be logical to ban
the APHC in Kerala alone. The Hurriyat leaders had visited
various States including Tamil Nadu and Karnataka in the past.
This time, they were coming to Kerala after visiting other
States. The Government would deal with the visit the same way as
other States do.
