Award for KM Birla

PUNE, AUG. 30. The Aditya Birla group Chairman, Mr. Kumarmangalam Birla, will be conferred with the `Outstanding businessman of the year' award by the National HRD Network, a consortium of HR professionals, during an international conference titled `Galvanising minds - challenges of the millennium' to be held here from September 8.

``The national HRD network has selected Mr. Birla for this award for his vision and the impeccable contribution of the group to the growth, development and promotion of India Inc.,'' the president and general manager, HRD, Mr. Dilip Misra, told reporters today.

``The criteria for selection include feedback from industry and professionals, the changed management practices followed and the profitability of the company,'' he said.
