India loses by a mile


COLOMBO, SEPT. 2. India ended their Sri Lankan tour on a disappointing note, suffering a humiliating innings defeat in the third and final cricket Test match here today, to lose the series 1-2.

The Indian second innings folded at 299 one hour and 15 minutes into the morning session on the fifth and final day today, giving Sri Lanka an innings and 77-run win.
