36 injured as train derails in M.P.
UMARIA (Madhya Pradesh), SEPT. 2. The engine and two bogies of
the Puri-bound Utkal Express jumped rails near Chandia station,
20 km from here, early today injuring 36 passengers, Central
Railway officials said.
The Umaria Railway Station Deputy Superintendent, Mr. G. S.
Patnia, said the express train derailed after it followed a track
on which a few bogies of a goods train had already derailed.
Trains were cancelled or diverted after traffic was disrupted in
Umaria-Bilaspur section following the derailment, the officials
said.
