'BJP gave us publicity'
By Our Special Correspondent
KOZHIKODE, SEPT. 4. ``The BJP has given us good publicity,'' the
visiting Hurriyat leader, Mr. Abdul Gani Lone, today said
dismissing lightly the protests staged by the former during the
visit of the two-member delegation of the All-Party Hurriyat
Conference to Kerala.
Speaking at a reception arranged by the Confederation of Human
Rights Organisations here, Mr. Lone said the BJP's show of
protest was uncalled for. When the Hurriyat team returned home
the more extremists elements among ``freedom fighters of
Kashmir'' were certain have fun at their expense and probably say
moderates like him rightly deserved such treatment.
The APHC leader also said the heavy police bandobust provided by
the State Government had curtailed their movement.
The members of the APHC delegation had flight tickets from
Bangalore to Thiruvananthapuram. Yet they were not issued
boarding passes. Mr. Lone and his APHC friend Mr. Abdul Majeed
Banday had to travel by road from Bangalore to Thiruvanathapuram.
