Kerala Ayurvedic medicine for city soon
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD, SEPT. 4. The blueprint for bringing the famous Kerala
Ayurvedic medicine system to the people of Andhra Pradesh has
been set into motion by the Tourism and Culture Department in
collaboration with the Santhigiri Ayurveda and Siddha Vaidyasala,
Thiruvananthapuram, with the setting up of a health village in a
private resort on the city outskirts.
An MoU on the project coming up at Pragathi Resorts in the
neighbouring Rangareddy district would be signed here on Thursday
in the presence of the Tourism Minister, Mr. E. Peddi Reddy.
``We wanted to bring the famous medicine system of the Santhigiri
Ashram closer home, and that too at an affordable price. As land
acquisition was a time consuming process, we wanted to initiate
the project immediately by roping in a private resort,'' the
Director, Culture, Mrs. G. Rekha Rani, explained. Plans were
afoot to set up a second unit of the health village in the city
itself on September 20, she said.
