HCL enters call centres segment

NEW DELHI, SEPT. 4. HCL Infosystems (HCL Insys) today announced the launch of its call centre services in association with Stratasoft Inc., a provider of advanced call center solutions.

The call centers will initially provide outbound tele-marketing to customers at fixed contracted rate. The service portfolio will be soon expanded to provide voice calls and data services such as e-mail response and web chat. The call centre strategy that will be utilised is based on a Stratasoft product called Strata Dial, stated a HCL Insys news release here.

HCL Insys plans to set up 30 call centres with over 3,600 agents in the country in the first year itself. Explaining the rationale behind entering this segment of IT value added services, Mr. J. V. Ramamurthy, a senior company official said the call centre space had emerged as a promising area of growth.

``There is tremendous potential for India to provide out-sourcing opportunities to these corporates. HCL Insys has chosen to work with Stratasoft as it is one of the largest providers of advanced call center solutions and has extensive reach as well as deep understanding of the U.S. market. We are confident this will help us secure prime business,'' he added.
