PTI ties up with business2media

NEW DELHI, SEPT. 5. Press Trust of India (PTI) and public relation company Ipan's business2media.com today announced a strategic tie-up for press release distribution to the media. Under the agreement, PTI would distribute press releases from business2media's clients on its nationwide satellite news network.

The tie-up, which brings PTI's India-wide news distribution network with business2media's Internet-based distribution, would enable any company to communicate news instantly to journalists through the combined network, a business2media.com news release said here today.

Commenting on the tie-up, PTI general manager, Mr. M. K. Razdan, said ``In keeping with worldwide trends, PTI is going into new areas of business even as it continues to strengthen and widen the scope of its flagship news service." Unlike places like the U.S., where such corporate newswire services are universally used, there is at present in India no single platform that allows all corporations to publish their press releases to full community of journalists and investors.

Ipan president, Mr. Rajiv Desai, said ``business2media will be the definitive infrastructure in India for corporations to publish their news in real time to the journalist and investor communities".
