Change in itinerary
MUMBAI, SEPT. 10. The fifth and final tie (day-night match) of
the one-day cricket series between India and England will now be
played in Mumbai on February 3 and not at Kanpur, as announced
earlier.
According to the revised itinerary released by the cricket board
here on Monday, the England team will arrive here on January 12,
after the Christmas break and play two practice matches on
January 17 (day match) and January 19 (day-night tie).
The first one-day international (day-night) will now be held at
Chennai on January 22 while the second match (day- night) will be
played at Kolkata on January 25.
Similarly, the third one-dayer (day) will be at Kanpur on January
28 while the fourth (day) will be in Delhi on January 31 followed
by the fifth and final one at Mumbai before the visitors leave on
February 4 for New Zealand to play a series there.
The Englishmen will arrive here for the three-match Test series
on November 14 and play a two-day match against the Mumbai
President's XI here on November 18 and 19 before leaving for
Hyderabad to play against the Board President's XI (three-day
tie) from November 22 to 24.
They will play the third side game at Jaipur against India `A'
from November 27 to 29 followed by the three Tests at Mohali
(December 3-7), Ahmedabad (December 11-15) and Bangalore
(December 19-23) before going home to celebrate Christmas.
