Woman without veil attacked
SRINAGAR, SEPT. 11. Just a day after the expiry of the deadline,
two suspected Lashkar-e-Jabbar militants attacked a woman in the
heart of the city for not covering herself with a veil as
demanded by the outfit.
The ultras stopped the woman at Nai Sarak and threw coloured
water on her face. Policemen deployed in the area immediately
arrested a suspected youth, identified as Fayaz Ahmad.
However, local residents said that Fayaz was an ``innocent''
auto-driver and that the two unidentified youth involved in the
attack had fled.
