Merchant, Alok Kumar for World meet
KOLKATA, SEPT. 11. Top snooker players Yasin Merchant and Alok
Kumar will represent India in the forthcoming World snooker
championship to be held in Cairo from October 19 to November 2.
Former world billiards champion Michael Ferreira will accompany
the two-member team as the coach, Billiards and Snooker
Federation of India (BSFI) sources said here.
Merchant is the current Asian snooker champion having won the
title in Karachi on June 9.
The sources said the National pool championship will be held in
New Delhi in December which will be followed by the National
billiards and snooker championships for seniors, juniors and
ladies from January 15 in Pune.
The Asian billiards championship is scheduled to be held in
Bangalore during the last week of February, sources said.
